Brooke Leatherman
Retired entrepreneur with business experience in a diversity of fields including graphic design, corporate communications, international artists management, software development, the hospitality industry, and real estate investment.
Since moving to the Kootenays in 1994, Brooke has variously served as President of the Nelson Downtown Business Association (2005-06), Founder and Executive Producer of "StreetFest", an international performers festival produced between 1979 and 2003, co-founder and Chair of Central Waterfront Enterprises, a community-led effort between 2002 and 2006 to acquire and establish a development vision for a key piece of property on Nelson's waterfront, and Chair of the Kalein Centre (2010 -19), a non-profit charitable society working to develop and grow a campus of integrated dialogue, education, and hospice care on the site of a former monastery in Nelson, British Columbia.
